Locality: Mexico: Chiapas: Sierra Madre de Chiapas, 20-Sep-97
Type Location(s):
HT:CHIP; LT:MEXUType notes:
The isotypes cited in the protologue were designated ineffectively as they were not collected from the same gathering (Art. 8.2, Turland et al., 2018)Martínez Domínguez et al. (in PhytoKeys 208: 60. 2022) designated the isotype De La Cruz Rodríguez 66 (MEXU) as the lectotype with the following justification: "Because no holotype of C. mirandae has been found in CHIP, despite intensive searches, we designate the uncited isotype found in MEXU as the lectotype". However, Haynes 2023 (in Phytotaxa 612(2): 161) reports that "the holotype exists and is deposited at CHIP" and provides photographic documentation of its existence (Fig.2, p. 162). Therefore, as the holotype has now been found to exist, the lectotype designated by Martínez et al. (2022) is superseded (Art. 9.19a, Turland et al., 2018).
